Then the seminar began with AUW students' presentations on the fundamentals of human trafficking from a theoretical viewpoint. The presenters were trained by Professor Selim Reza, Assistant Professor of Development Studies. The event provided students with the opportunity to share their knowledge of human trafficking as presenters, as well as to learn more about the vulnerabilities, risks, and challenges of human trafficking in Bangladesh and the rest of the world as participants of the seminar.

Interesting case studies were presented by Rights Jessore and BRAC representatives. Additionally, they shared how these organizations are working to aid the victims of human trafficking. Mr Shariful Islam, Programme Head of Migration for BRAC, explained how BRAC assists with the rehabilitation and social integration of the victims of human trafficking. Ms. Habiba Akter, Team Lead, Human Rights and the Rule of Law, USAID, discussed the preliminary work of her organization in assisting victims of human trafficking, and encouraged AUW students to become activists in their own communities. At last, as the event drew to an end, Dr. Dave Dowland, AUW Registrar, said in his closing remarks, “Thanks to students, faculty, and partner organizations for bringing together the academic study and practical action to promote social progress."
