Breeze of Spring: Shadows of Dusk

Choki Dolkar
You’re tamer
Calmer
I’m less timid
You seemed mature
Now you approach wiser
We’re older now
We talked
We talk
But it’s different now
We’re still the same
With new leaves
Did you notice my new blossom
In the dim light
You appear different
Less idol-like
More life-like
Our talks-I like them better now
I’m more comfortable
I’m more confident
Not fully
And when I’m conscious
I’m queasy
But I’m different now
Time had passed since then.
I feel you know my secret
I keep under lock and rug
But do you know my secret
Why do you know my secret
If you do, that makes us closer
But did you peep under the rug
When I wasn’t there
I’m chagrined of those blemishes
I want them to be washed away
Everybody has stains
Tell me, don’t you
In the dim light
You look tired too
Your face that once porcelain sheen
Looks tamad with less catered hair
But the air is different
You seem less
Is that pity in your eyes
We are less pretentious
I’m more me
More open to honesty
To showing flawed
Unfeigned perfection
As your car approaches
It’s time to go
And as we say goodbyes
What was that look in your eyes
Did you feel the air too
Do you see I’m different too
I turn and smile
It was natural
It was habit
A tad bit awkward but
Genuine too
As I walk away
I’m still feeling low
As I was before we happened to meet this fine evening
But the wind has shifted
The shadow is lighter
And the farewell I bade
I meant them too.
